She blends strategic thinking with sharp execution, working closely with clients to translate ideas into thoughtful, well-crafted brand moments. Known for her energy and clarity, she makes every activation feel intentional, elevated, and distinctly on-brand.

Karen Vonder Meulen

Karen serves in a leadership consulting role as the Director of Communications & Strategy for Varsity Color, responsible for shaping and managing Varsity Color’s internal and external communications to strengthen brand positioning, support growth initiatives, and build credibility with clients, partners, and investors. This role owns the company’s voice across all channels and ensures every message reflects Varsity Color’s values, strategy, and commitment to excellence.


In her leadership role, Karen will develop integrated communication strategies that elevate brand awareness, reinforce market leadership, and support business development efforts. Previously, Karen served as the Corporate Communications Manager for Rolls-Royce North America and Director of PR at Ferrari.

Jonathan Hornaday

Jonathan brings a strategic financial lens to the business, drawing on experience across investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and growth-stage companies. His guidance ensures Varsity Color is built not just creatively, but sustainably and smartly for the long term.

John is a brand craftsman with more than three decades of creative leadership. From global tech to award-winning design firms, his experience informs a disciplined yet imaginative approach. He protects brand integrity while elevating every detail to make sure what we produce is as refined as it is memorable.
